I want to put the spotlight on the person you have as a role model and whom you spend time with.
Let’s start with a question for you; have you had the success in your life that you expected? (Remember that success is a highly personal evaluation so it’s your view that counts.)
Have you considered that the outcome of your bid for success may have something to do with your role model? Let’s say, for example, that you’re not satisfied with how things are. To me the natural questions to ask myself would be, ‘how come’, and ‘can I do anything about it?’
I would first focus on whether I have a role model and, if so, who is it and what positive things can he or she share with me? Most importantly, do they have sufficient or appropriate skills to help me?
There are so many people who use role models, but are they the best for you? Do they really have the necessary skills? This is so important since you’re allowing them to influence you and your decisions.
There are always reasons why you’re not succeeding in life, and often you’ll find them in the people you expected would act as your guide. The questions is – do they have enough of a good attitude and the skills you need?
